The ten-year-old gelding Gangster WW (Grand Slam VDL x Kannan) will continue his career under the saddle of American rider McKayla Langmeier. The horse was sold a few weeks ago following the World Championships in Aachen and will now compete for the United States with an eye on the Los Angeles 2028 Olympic Games.
According to the FEI database, the bay gelding is now registered under the ownership of Rafferty Farm LLC. This owner is the main sponsor of Langmeier, who currently holds 69th place on the world rankings. The stable also owns the BWP gelding Rieseling van de Gaathoeve (Iron Man van de Padenborre x Diamant de Semilly) and the Selle Français stallion Isidore de Chalusse (Clarimo x Vigo d'Arsouilles), with whom Langmeier is already competing at the highest level (including at the CSIOs in Gassin and Barcelona).
A Successful Path with Luke Dee Gangster WW made a name for himself over recent years under New Zealand rider Luke Dee. Dee purchased the prospect when the horse was six years old and brought him up to the top level of the sport.
The duo earned numerous placings in prominent Grand Prix events: • 2nd place: Grand Prix of the City of Amsterdam (January) • 2nd place: Longines FEI Jumping Nations Cup Grand Prix at CSIO5* Rotterdam • 5th place: Rolex Grand Prix of Dinard (with just one time fault)
A New Chapter in the US
Langmeier, who trains under the guidance of McLain Ward, has already completed her first national rounds at the 1.30m level with Gangster WW. The new combination is set to make its international debut soon at the CSI2* in Tryon.
