Is-Minka, the highly competitive grey mare who shone at the highest level alongside Swiss champion Steve Guerdat, has moved to a new stable. The 13-year-old mare will continue her career under the American flag.
The daughter of Mylord Carthago was recently sold to the United States, where she will compete at a lower level under her new rider and owner, Elise Haas. Haas is a familiar name in the sport, having previously campaigned the legendary stallion Mr. Blue.
An Impressive Track Record
Under the saddle of Steve Guerdat, Is-Minka developed into a powerhouse on the international circuit. The duo celebrated numerous highlights, most notably their victory in the 2024 World Cup Grand Prix of Bordeaux.
The mare was also an invaluable asset to the Swiss team. A standout moment was their double clear round that secured victory for Switzerland in the 5* Nations Cup of Brussels. The pair concluded their partnership in style with a final victory at the Leipzig Championship.
A Future in Breeding
While Is-Minka is now crossing the Atlantic, she is expected to return to Europe eventually. After her sporting career in the U.S. concludes, she will enjoy a well-deserved retirement at Philippe Skally’s Haras des Douces. There, she will transition to a breeding career, passing on her elite genes to the next generation of top showjumpers.
