Yuri Mansur has announced the passing of his Olympic horse, Miss Blue Saint-Blue Farm (Chacco-Blue x VDL Zirocco Blue). The mare died as a result of complications from colic. The Brazilian federation has confirmed the news.
The 12-year-old mare achieved numerous successes with Mansur in the saddle. This year, the pair won the CSIO5* 1.60m Rolex Grand Prix in Rome, as well as the 1.60m Grand Prix of Fontainebleau. In ’s-Hertogenbosch, they placed third in the 1.60m Rolex Grand Prix. Last year, they impressed in Aachen and Hamburg, and competed at the Olympic Games in Paris.
“I’m writing to express my gratitude,” Yuri Mansur shared on social media. “I will cherish every moment we had together. From the beginning—watching a video of her during the Tokyo Olympics—to her first jump, and all the successes we achieved together. She’s only just gone, and I already miss her grumpiness in the stable. I miss her enthusiasm for work and her commitment over the jumps!”
“I still can’t believe I won’t be welcoming her back to the stable, won’t see her again. I’m incredibly grateful for everything—that she gave me, even if just briefly, so many beautiful moments. She gave my career a boost and brought joy to my family and team!”
We extend our heartfelt condolences to everyone who had the chance to know and work with this extraordinary mare.
