Philippe Le Jeune launches own academy: "I want to share my experiences with other, younger riders..."

Philippe Le Jeune no longer wants to compete for a spot in top-level equestrian sports. The former World Champion (Le Jeune won the 2010 World Equestrian Games with Vigo d'Arsouilles, editor's note) announced this back in 2020. In the meantime, he has a new project!

In 2020, Le Jeune told our editorial team that he no longer wished to compete at the CSI5* level. During that period, the Belgian was the coach of the Moroccan national show jumping team. He stepped down from that role in December 2023.

Le Jeune has now announced to Sohorse that he plans to launch his own academy. "The goal is to provide students with more knowledge about the sport. We will focus on technical and riding skills development, as well as all other aspects of our sport, such as care, creating competition-oriented training schedules, and more," says Le Jeune.

The Belgian rider no longer wants to compete at the CSI5* level and—by his own words—has even less interest in participating in CSI2* competitions that seem never-ending. "I want to share my knowledge, just as others did for me. The time has come for me to focus on supporting young riders, with respect for their horses!"
