Niels Bruynseels wins the CSI5* Last Chance at Mechelen

The last day of Jumping Mechelen kicked-off with a CSI5*. The Last Chance over 1.45m had just under forty combinations at the start. Home rider Niels Bruynseels led the victory lap in the saddle of Diornella-D (by Diamant de Semilly).

The jump-off did seemed to be a big test as many riders made at least one mistake. An elite club of six combinations were able to deliver a clear round. Niels Bruynseels set the winning time at 35.47, which ultimately gave a two-second advantage. An international podium followed with silver for Denmark's Emil Hallundbaek on Casirus (by Casiro 3). The bronze came under the Swedish flag and was for Erica Swartz with Jovita (by Carabas v Wateringhoeve).

Lars Kersten came just outside the top three on four with Big Beauty Z (by Big Star JR KZ). Rounding out the top five was Jos Verlooy and FTS Killossery Konfusion (by Siec Livello). The final clear jump-off was ridden by Jack Ryan. The Irishman guided Catch-Me van Berkenbroeck (by Cicero van Paemel) through the course.
