The Irish rider Darragh Kenny is competing at Sentower Park this weekend. Yesterday, he immediately claimed victory in the Longines Ranking class of the CSI2* competition with his new mount, Chaccossini (by Chacco-Blue). "I’m convinced he will perform well at the highest level," Kenny told our editorial team.
"Chaccossini, along with Zero K (by Robin Z), arrived at my stables last week. Both horses come from Polish rider Andrej Oplatek, and the plan is for me to compete with them with the goal of selling them. This week, both Chaccossini and Zero K have already performed very well, so I’m naturally very pleased. Both horses are very enjoyable to ride, and you can feel that they have a lot of quality," the Irishman continues.
"The plan now is to take them to London and spend the rest of the winter in Wellington. I’m very curious to see how they will develop further, but I’m already convinced that both horses have the ability to compete at the highest level," he concludes.
Both the 10-year-old Zero K and the 12-year-old Chaccossini (by Chacco-Blue) were ridden by Martin Fuchs before Kenny took over the reins. Under the Swiss world number eleven, both horses had already competed at CSI5* level.
