Earlier this year, Swedish show jumper Rolf-Göran Bengtsson announced that his Olympic ace, Zuccero HV (by Zirocco Blue), would be put up for sale. Today, Bengtsson reveals that after five years of partnership, the grey stallion is moving on to his new rider, Maximilian Weishaupt!
"I had hoped to be able to ride him a bit longer," the Swede says. "We still had a promising career ahead of us. Although we haven’t yet been able to show our full potential, I look back on this period with satisfaction. But above all, I’m incredibly grateful for the beautiful moments we were able to experience together. I look back on unforgettable memories!"
Together with Zuccero HV, Bengtsson competed at the Olympic Games in Paris. The pair also won Grand Prix competitions in Uggerhalne, Neumünster, and Abu Dhabi.
With the Swedish team, the combination claimed European team gold in Milan and finished eleventh in the individual rankings at the European Championships.
