"My mare was incredible today," Epaillard reacts after. "She is just top class. I am very happy with her and looking forward to see what the rest of the week will bring. Certainly it was a strong start for our first championship. But the week is still long."

On stage in this opening class it is Great-Britain's Scott Brash who follows as runner-up with his 13-year-old Belgian Warmblood gelding, Hello Jefferson (Cooper vd Heffinck). Third is Swiss showjumper, Martin Fuchs and Leone Jei (Baltic VDL).

Fuchs reacts; "I had a great round today. I had a plan when I walked the course and I did just stick to it. Lovely when a plan just works out," reacts the Swiss showjumper.

Currently fourth is Peder Fredricson with H&M  All In (Kashmir van Schuttershof) while Henrick von Eckermann and Kind Edward (Edward) currently settle as fifth.
