More than 200,000 places went on sale this week to the World Equestrian Games in Normandy later this year. Most are for single sessions in the Olympic disciplines, and include tickets at the eventing cross country, the dressage Grand Prix Freestyle to Music and the driving marathon. Prices start at €5 for para-dressage and €12 for endurance and going up to €90 for the most coveted jumping tickets. “The Organising Committee keeps us informed on a regular basis regarding the ticket sales and the results so far are great,” FEI Secretary General Ingmar De Vos said. “No less than 210,000 have already been sold to both French horse enthusiasts and overseas visitors, who have bought more than 50% of the available tickets so far. The UK is topping the leaderboard in terms of foreign sales, and is closely followed by the USA, Germany, Australia, Belgium and the Netherlands. “We’re confident that the tickets being released will be snapped up very quickly and are looking forward to sold-out venues in all the disciplines and to an unforgettable atmosphere at the Alltech FEI World Equestrian Games 2014 in Normandy.” All tickets will give spectators a free access to the Games Village set up in Caen’s “Parc des Expositions”. Tickets for the individual Jumping Final – the Final Four with change of horses on Sunday, 7 September – will be going on sale in April. Tickets will be attributed through drawing of lots based on online registration. Tickets for the closing ceremony will also go on sale next month.
