Ticket sale for WEG 2014 almost sold out?

The Alltech FEI World Equestrian Games organizers have announced that Hospitality Packages, for this year's WEG in Normandy, are on sale.Hospitality Packages are available on three sites:

  • d’Ornano Stadium – for the opening and closing ceremonies, the dressage and jumping events, and the final eventing phase
  • The Games Village is home to the Games Villa, where lunch and dinner is available in the heart of the Caen games village
  • Le Pin National Stud – where the stud’s VIP Village area offers brunch while watching eventing’s cross-country phase
Tickets for WEG 2014 have been keenly sought, since the first went on sale to members of National Federations on June 6 last year. The second sales period, which offered passes for several events, opened on November 18. On March 4, a further 220,000 places tickets will go on sale, 80% of which are for the Olympic disciplines. Tickets for the famous 4-way final in the showjumping will be marketed in April. In total 400,000 tickets will be available to the event in Normandy, which runs from August 23 to September 7. So far  200,632 places have been sold since June 6, 2013. One third of tickets (32.7%) have been bought by the French ‘equestrian family’ and half have been bought by spectators outside France. One in five places (22%) have already been snapped up by the general public, despite the general ticket office only being opened since November 2013. © press release
