When winter is coming Studfarm Zangersheide traditionally starts its search for new stars to populate its stallion station. Every year around this time the breeders are therefore curious about which new stallions will be occupying the stables of Studfarm Zangersheide to become available in the next season to the general public. This year, the first is Aganix du Seigneur to open the transfer season at Zangersheide! Aganix du Seigneur is a 9-yr-old son of Ogano Sitte and he comes from the line of the Olympic mare Gute Sitte. His dam Cadix du Seigneur Z (Chellano Z) is also dam of the Grand Prix horse Arsouille du Seigneur (1.60m – Robert Breul) and a sister of Sea Coast Atlantic ( 1.60m – Gudrun Patteet ) and Callas Sitte ( 1.60m – Christina Liebherr). Aganix himself also was started in the sport up to 1.60m level by Jos Lansink. Lansink believed that the chestnut stallion would become a championships horse and his future number one. The combination started well in the spring of 2015 and was selected for the Dutch Nations Cup when fate struck as Aganix du Seigneur sustained an injury that cancelled out his further sports career. Studfarm Zangersheide had had its eyes on the stallion for several years and was now able to buy him from owners Jos Lansink and Luc Henry. “We are very pleased with the purchase of Aganix du Seigneur, which will from now on carry a Z behind his name. At stallion selections, in competitions and free jumping or youngster classes we often see products of Aganix. Remarkably, they are always genuine sport horses with extraordinary jumping talents. They bare supple, extremely careful and all throw an abnormally rounded jump. I have never yet seen an Aganix that was disappointing,” says Judy Ann Melchior. “The stallion only has some 100 offspring so far, the eldest now 5-yr-olds and yet the stallion already has two sons licensed by our studbook, namely Akarad Hero Z (dam’s sire Chin Chin) and A Golden Boy Hero Z (dam’s sire Carthago Z). This year’s reserve champion filly was an Aganix, and so was the champion 4-yr-olds at Z-Festival. The latter, Agadance van ’t Gelutt Z (dam’s sire Cadence van ’t Gelutt Z) is probably one of the most remarkable 4-yr-olds in Belgium. So in recent years Aganix was already often represented at Zangersheide.” Aganix du Seigneur Z will be used for breeding at Studfarm Zangersheide full time and will from 2016 be available every day with fresh sperm.
