After several media published Athina Onassis' decision to deny Doda de Miranda access to his Olympic Horse, Onassis' lawyers have send out a press release to ask for privacy and respect. The statement is released on Friday 2nd of September. It specifically asks for a value of privacy and respect during the divorce between the two show jumping riders. The statement reads: “You can understand that this is an incredibly difficult and sad time for both parties involved. Mrs. Onassis would value privacy and respect during these deeply personal and painful moments. Mrs. Onassis confirms that all horses are owned by her equestrian sports entities. She has done her utmost to be considerate of Mr. de Miranda Neto, to whom she was married for 11 years, even providing him with the use of her horse Cornetto K during the 2016 Rio Games, a memorable opportunity for him to represent Brazil in these homeland Olympics. She has supported Mr. de Miranda Neto’s career all these years and is very surprised that he is now seeking a substantial alimony.”
