Billy Twomey back in the saddle

Billy TwomeyBilly Twomy is back! After being 'out' for some months the Irish riders states the following on his website: Sorry if I have been a bit quiet on here but it has been a slightly longer recuperation than I thought. I have taken things very slowly, with the back being such a critical area, I wanted to ensure I was fully healed before getting back into competition and realising I was not quite ready. "So with that in mind, I headed to a show, local to the yard in Nottingham, Arena UK, last weekend with Royale Du Rouet and Romanov. Both horses jumped really well for double clears and my back felt brilliant throughout the show. Now that I have tested everything is working properly and my back is pain free, I have decided I will jump the first leg of the Spanish Sunshine Tour in Valencia, from the 14th of February, certainly for the first three weeks and then see how I go. I am going to take Je T'aime Flamenco and Tin Tin, who are back after a year of niggling injuries, so it will be great to see how they shape up. I will be taking Aminko and Royal Du Rouet as the younger horses, along to gain experience. They jumped the age classes last year internationally, so they should hopefully be ready to step up a little bit this year. I am really keen to get back out competing again, as it it feels like I have been away for a while now, I cant wait to get going! I will let you know how I get on!" bron: equnews.be/ B. Twomey
