As previously announced, two-time US Olympic gold medalist McLain Ward is now riding for Double H Farms. The World #19 is currently competing HH Fleur and HH Ashley owned by Double H Farms and is looking forward to a long and successful season representing the stable, which is based in Wellington, Florida. “We are very proud to be working with McLain again. McLain and his team, Lee and Erica McKeever, Diane Puopolo, and his wife Lauren, are incredibly knowledgable, talented and hard working” says Hunter Harrison. “I figured that when you have the opportunity to work with the best, take it!” Double H has also now acquired Carlos V.H.P.Z for McLain to compete this season. The 12 year old Zangersheide geling was acquired by Emilie Martinsen’s EM Stables in 2012 but has been competed by Nick dello Joio for the last 12 months, competing in Valkenswaard for the Global Champions Tour event as well as the Spruce Meadows Summer series last year in addition to this year’s 2014 FTI Consulting Winter Equestrian Festival. From 2009 to 2012, Carlos V.H.P.Z was ridden with great success by Nicola Philippaerts. In 2012 alone, the pair won the Longines Falsterbo Grand Prix in Sweden, finished second with Team Belgium in the Nations Cup of Lummen (BEL) and third with Team Belgium in the Nations Cup of Rome (ITA). In 2011, Carlos helped Nicola win an individual Gold medal at the European Young Riders Championships in Comporta, Portugal. We are looking forward to seeing the talented McLain Ward and Carlos V.H.P.Z together this season. They will begin competition together in Week 7 of the 2014 FTI Consulting Winter Equestrian Festival.   © HH Farm
