On her personal Facebook pagina, Swiss female show jumping rider, Janika Sprunger has announced the sad loss of her trusted JL's Komparse. Just before her participation in Rio, Sprunger has been separated from the 15-year-old grey gelding by Kolibri. The cause of his passing is away is yet unknown. On her social media Sprunger wrote:
Thanks little warrior for all the joy you gave us until your last seconds. YOU are for me a once in a life time horse!! YOU travelled with me all around the world and were fighting and winning for us in all the biggest shows! YOU were the most motivated, sweet, easy little dream horse any girl could ever dream of. YOU jumped your heart out for me!!!!! I m just so grateful i was your rider and just so sad to let you go today You will be ALWAYS in my heart - rest well JL's Komparse.A few weeks ago Sprunger was still active with Komparse and placed fourth and sixth during the CSIO in Falsterbo, Sweden. In June the pair competed during the FEI Furusiyya Nations Cup in Sankt Gallen, Switzerland. Together the combination won over 19 international classes.
