What do Rodrigo Pessoa, Michel Robert, Kevin Staut, Leopold Van Asten, Dermott Lennon, Alvaro de Miranda and Bernardo Alves have in common? They practiced with trainer Jos Kumps (52). For almost half a century this 'legend' trained different riders from the bottom up to an Olympic level. And no doubt his pupils are the best proof of his knowledge and practice. But every while and then somebody has to turn the page and that is what Jos Kumps does right now. "I no longer want to 'waste' time in the car or on the plane," explains Kumps. That is why he agreed with the equestrian centre Wittenberg in Belgian city Herentals (founded by Rik Van Looy) to start his own 'Jos Kumps trainingscentre'. In the futur Kumps wants to focus on the accompaniment of lowlevel riders. Together with them he wants to reach the top. In his short term vision Kumps wants to introduce a fixed schedule with fixed classes and clinics. This Wednesday January 30 You can grasp a first view of this new trainingscentre where Jos will demonstrate 3 clinics.
