Yesterday Laura Kraut confirmed that Jubilee d'Ouilly is in fact retiring from international competition. Speaking with the 2008 Olympic Gold medalist, Kraut confirmed that Jubilee left her stables in Wellington in the morning. Laura could only confirm that the 17-year-old mare was the exception that completed her career for a long time. Together with Kraut the French-bred mare did compete in the 2014 FTI Consulting Winter Equestrian Festival last month. Out of her character she put the breaks on twice, for Kraut a sign that the mare was no longer interested in show jumping. Last year Laura and Jubilee started their European season off well, finishing second in the GCT Grand Prix of Madrid (ESP) and closing out the 2013 season with a win at the London Olympia Horse Show. The horse-rider combination earned about 22 victories in total. Although she is on retirement Laura hopes to have a possible Big Star foal out of the mare. "There is very little Big Star semen, but the owner have graciously allowed to make some available for our wonderful Jubilee." concludes Kraut.
