German show jumper, André Thieme has sold his potential Champions horse, Contanga. The 11-year-old has moved to Biljonair-air, Athina Onassis. Thiema and the Catoki-Contango-daughter finished seventh in the last Aachen Grand Prix. Contanga was Thieme's number one horse for several years. The pair won one international class in their career. In 2013 they claimed victory in the Gijon Grand Prix. Last year Contanga jumped to a second place at the Nations Cup competition in Hickstead and the Longines Falsterbo Grand Prix. German show jumping coach, Otto Becker understands André Thieme's decision. However with a look on the next European Championships the sell has come in a bad moment. Marcus Ehning's Cornado is injured and now Contanga has left the team as well. Luckily Thieme can still count on the 11-years-old Wallach Conthendrix. For Athina the buy means a comeback on the highest level. After Onassis had to euthanize her number one horse, Camille, last year, she was without any CSI5*-horses.
