Daughter Maryam Al Khalifa and mother Noora Al Khalifa have started six lawsuits against Gertjan and Anne van Olst and several companies of Gertjan van Olst (Van Olst c.s.). After about a year of legal proceedings the court convicted mother and daughter Al Khalifa to provide security in favor of Van Olst c.s. for the costs of the lawsuits. Mother and daughter Al Khalifa refused that and were subsequently declared inadmissible by the court. Then, in January 2016, mother and daughter Al Khalifa transferred all their alleged claims on Van Olst c.s. to the company MB Equine Consultancy Ltd. (MB), established by mother Al Khalifa, after which all lawsuits were started again, but now by MB. The shares of the empty company MB are in the hands of mother Al Khalifa. In the meanwhile, on the 19th of April 2017, the court of Zeeland-West Brabant in Breda passed a judgment in the lawsuit about the horse De Chirico. The Court has completely rejected all of MB’s claims and MB has been sentenced to pay the court costs to Van Olst c.s. On May 10, 2017, the same court passed judgments in the lawsuit about the horses Chippendale, Eternal Flame and Brandon. Also in these matters all of MB’s claims have been completely rejected. MB is again sentenced to pay the court costs to Van Olst et al. Through all these judgments, it appears that first mother and daughter Al Khalifa and then MB have unlawfully seized a truck and several horses of Van Olst c.s. All seizures have been removed by the judge and by mother Al Khalifa, except for the seizure and the custody of the KWPN approved dressage stud Chippendale. Possibly, Van Olst c.s. will have this seizure lifted by summary proceedings. This depends on a future ruling that the judge will pass in court proceedings about this horse. Mother and daughter and MB have already been held liable by Van Olst c.s. for the damages. Mother and daughter Al Khalifa and MB are represented by lawyer Mr. Stefan Wensing. Van Olst c.s are represented by lawyer Mr. Wibe Reddingius.
