We already reported the lacking professionalism from the Organizing Committée for this years World University Equestrian Championships. As it seems the FISU is heading for a 'disabled' World Equestrian Championship this year.  In an official letter the FISU (International Federation of University Sports) announced the solution to the earlier problems. To guarantee the participation of all teams in the WUEC the FISU and Organizers  have decided to cancel the dressage competition. After a long search the organizers of the 11th WUEC, to be hosted in Abu Dhabi, could not find a sufficient amount of quality dressage horses. Although the effort has been made, the news is not without any consequence. Strong dressage-countries will need to reconsider their team-members. The breaking with traditions might be a start to redesign the Student Riders-system. However at this moment it is an inconvenient news creating an uneven battle for the competing countries.
