That winner was Simon Delestre. He was able to jump a clear round in the saddle of I Amelusina R 51 (by Dexter R) and finished in 38.46 seconds. This left his first pursuer, Rodrigo Giesteira Almeida behind by 1.50 seconds. Giesteira in turn was able to ride his 9-year-old KWPN horse Pegasus Jataki (by Jamal vd Heffinck) clear to the finish in 39.94 seconds. Christian Kukuk completed the podium. He counted on the 9-year-old Just Be Gentle (by Tyson) to jump clear in 40.15 seconds. Only the top five could record a double clear round. Manuel Fernandez Saro got one jumping fault in the jump-off with Jarlin de Torres (by Jarnac). This still earned them fourth place. The top five was completed by Emanuele Gaudiano and Chalou (by Chacco-Blue); they were the fastest four-pointers in the first round.
