The European Championship will take place next year anyway. Both the European Championships for jumping and that for dressage will take place in Germany, both at a different location. The European Show jumping will take place from August 30 to September 4 in Riesenbeck, and for dressage from September 7 to 12 in Hagen. The FEI and EEF agree that if one of the locations is unable to host the championship, no other solution will be looked for.
Originally, the European Championship was not going to take place next year as the FEI felt that two major championships could not take place in one summer. The Olympic Games have already been rescheduled and thus have priority. This decision received a lot of criticism and now a definitive solution has been found.
There are no European Championships for eventing riders and para dressage.
