The jumping week over at St Tropez was closed with a 5* Grand Prix. With fences build at 1.60m high, the riders all wanted the same thing; win. It was Laurent Goffinet who could keep the victory in France.
Place one and two both went to French combinations. Marc Dilasser jumped a fast jump-off with Arioto du Gerves (v. Diamant de Semilly) but Goffinet was faster. On the back of Atome des Etisses (v. Mylord Carthago*HN) he was able to stay 5 hundredths ahead of his patriot and take the win. Dominique Hendrickx had saddled Floris TN (v. Quality Time TN) for this class. The pair took home the bronze medal.
Abdel Saïd also rode under the Belgian flag and stayed clear in the saddle of Bonne Amie (v. A Big Boy). Their round was good enough to end fifth. Christian Ahlmann ended fourth with Mandato van de Neerheide (v. Emerald).
