It is magnificent sport under a bright sunny sky that is offered at the CSI5* in Valenca. On Friday the main class was set at a height of 1.55m. In the end it was France's Marc Dilasser who secured a home win in this five star class aboard his son of Diamant de Semilly, Arioto du Gevres.
After a jump-off with 18, Thursday's winner, Carlos Enrique Lopez Lizarazo followed as runner-up with the son of Baloubet du Rouet, G&C Arrayan. The third spot coloured British with John Whitaker and Unick du Francport (Zandor).
The pair was followed by Alexa Ferrer aboard Uranie de Belcour (Flipper D'Elle*Hn) in fourth and Olivier Perreau with GI Events Venizia D'Aiguilly (Diamant de Semilly) in fifth.
"Whatever the number of starters, a 5* jump-off is quick," Dilasser commented after. "Today, even if there had only been eight in the jump-off, I would have started at the same pace because anyway, in the end, you have to be fast to win. This victory with Arioto du Gevres is good, recently he has been jumping very well but I often made a small mistake. The victory is also good for my team, that works very hard, and for my owners who are passionate and want to keep their horse so that we can do the sport. On Sunday, I will ride him in the Grand Prix."
