As a first, Japan has announced its team for the nex Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro. The Games will take place in August 2016. For its jumping team Japan has chosen for Taizo Sugitani, Toshiki Masui, Daisuke Fukusima and Reiko Takeda. The team chef has pointed Koki Saito as a reserve rider. Without a doubt Taizo Sugitani is the most famous show jumper of Japan. Taizo has already competed in five Olympic Games with his best result during the Athens 2004 Games, finishing 15th. Daisuke Fukushima is going for high prospects as well as old pupil of former World Champion and Olympic rider, Jos Lansink.
