Diamond Mountain Stables evacuated because of raging wildfires in California
The raging wildfires in California where closing in on the Diamond Mountain Stables in the foothills of Napa Valley. The stables are run by famous World Cup rider Macella O'Neill and her partner Charlie White.

It was caught up in the mandatory evacuation of the whole Calistoga area at the start of the week, as fires engulfed more than 170,000 acres, fanned by 50mph winds. Along with the Diamond Mountain horses, many others were also forced to leave the initial evacuation point in Napa.

Besides the showjumpers of O'Neill, many unknown horses as well as other animals including alpacas, mules, donkeys and goats where evactuated. So far, it is believed the abandoned yard has “escaped the grasp” of the blaze. While there have been previous wildfires in the region, they have never put the property in jeopardy before.

All animals have been provided save sanctuary after a 10 hour drive in Coachella Valley.
