Grand Prix-showjumper Chianti’s Champion sold
The 11-year-old Grand Prix stallion Chianti’s Champion of Dutch top rider Frank Schuttert has been sold. The Champion du Lys-son, who recently finished 4th in the Global Champions Tour of Doha, is leaving to the stables of Team Harmony. The Irish rider Peter Moloney takes over the reins.

In 2018 Chianti’s Champion had many highlights, including the victory in the Grand Prix of Valkenswaard, 3rd place in the Super Grand Prix of Prague and participation in the World Equestrian Games in Tryon. The year 2019 started excellent for Frank Schuttert and the stallion as well; in Doha, Chianti’s Champion jumped to a 4th place in the Grand Prix.

"As a sportsman it is very sad that Chianti’s Champion is leaving, but as a dealer you have to sell such horses sometimes," says owner Jos Lansink. "We did not plan on selling Chianti, but after lots of interest we decided to sell him to Team Harmony."

The stallion was sold through Cian O’Connor, who trains his compatriot Peter Moloney. Recently Moloney won the CSI4 * Grand Prix of Vejer de la Frontera with the Ornellaia - also one of Team Harmony’s horses
