Harrie Smolders: "As long as the horses are healthy and have fun, we'll keep scoring..."
Harrie Smolders keep scoring and rocking the prizes. The Dutch show jumping rider did end his 2017 with a world cup victory and started the new year and now new season with succes. Last Sunday Smolders jumped to victory in the first Z-Tour Grand Prix of the year.

About his horse Smolders was positive: "Cas did an amazing job. Last season he jumped a bit in the shadows. Cas still has to learn to play the game. Although, we can't forget our ninth place in Paris in December."

"We're almost there. I want to jump Cas at the Longines Masters in New York. Because 6 weeks without any competition is to long I took him to Lanaken for the Zangersheide tour. And yes he did proof me he's ready."

Who Smolders will take along to Paris is not yet decided. "This week I'll decide if I'll jump my first round aboard Zinius - his worldcup winning horse in Mechelen - or Emerald. I have a string of top horses at the moment. This ensures the results just follow."

Being world's number two show jumping rider, Smolders doesn't seem to get ahead of Kent Farringtonn. "As long as the horses are healthy and love their job we'll keep scoring. I won't force any horse just to get some extra points."
