O'Connor and 'Ruthie' welcome first daughter

On his Facebook profile, Ireland's Olympic rider, Cian O'Connor has announced the birth of his first born daughter. Last night at 9.12pm Cara Louise O'Connor was born. O'Connor and his wife Ruth Maybin welcomed Cara Louise O'Connor just before the rider is leaving for the LGCT Finals in Doha.

Cian O'Connor married Ruth Maybin on 31 December 2011 at Clongowes Wood College, Clane, County Kildare.

On his Facebook O'Connor writes: "Welcome our baby girl Cara Louise O'Connor - born tonight at 9.12pm weighing 9lbs 1oz!! Well done to Ruthie- amazing job- us men don't realise how lucky we are! Timing is everything- now I can relax on my flight tomorrow night to Doha!!"
