World class mare Carassina put down

The world class Concerto II-daughter Carassina died at 21 years of age. De mare got famous after her spectacular win at the Hamburger Derby back in 2009. She won under the saddle of Thomas Kleis.

The mare was born in 1997 at Otto-Boje Schoof's place and was considered one of the pearls of the Holsteiner Breed. Because of both her own and her dam's performances. Her dam Wodka is considered as one of the most influential Holsteiner mares.

Carassina was blind at one side and recently injured her other eye, which lead to the decision to put her down.
