Calido I passed away

At the age of 32, Calido I, sired by Cantus-Coriander-Roman, has passed away. The stallion was bred by Matthias Kahler (Neuendeich) and spent many years at the Maas J. Hell stallion station, where he became their flagship stallion.

Station owner Herbert Ulonska and his daughter Jasmin Ulonska-Weiss bid farewell to Calido I, who remained present and vibrant in stallion presentations even in his old age. Maas Johannes Hell had discovered the stallion and acquired him for the station in Klein Offenseth. Calido I was known as the most popular son of Cantus, who made a name for himself in young years in show jumping competitions.

He can boast 115 licensed sons worldwide, including 26 in Holstein, among them Cero I and Cormint. 20 of his daughters were awarded the State Premium by the Holsteiner Verband. 105 of his offspring have achieved success internationally over 1.60 meters, with notable Holsteiner examples such as Carlucci (European Champion Children Show Jumping with Brianne Beerbaum in 2023) and California (Olympic participant in 2008 with Taizo Sugitani/JPN). Also well-known at the time was the licensed stallion Coupe de Coeur, who twice won the German championship title with René Tebbel and was once part of the victorious German team in the Nations Cup of Barcelona.
