Ludger Beerbaum's Chaman passed away at age 20

Sad news from the Beerbaum stables today. The now 20 year old Chaman passed away after a normal day at home.

"Unfortunately, we have to tell our breeders and Chaman's friends that the stallion died in his stable on Saturday," says Ludger Beerbaum on his website.

After a very normal day of routine with some paddock time, the 20-year-old son of Baloubet du Rouet passed away in his stable in the late afternoon.

"I associate very emotional memories with Chaman," says Ludger Beerbaum about the KWPN bred stallion. "He was a very nice horse to ride." Beerbaum shared a special bond with the brown and together won numerous shows, including the German Masters in Stuttgart, the Grand Prix of Lyon, the Grand Prix of Lausanne, the Grand Prix pf Ebreichdorf and the Grand Prix in Wiesbaden. They also won the Global Champions Tour in Vienna and Valkenswaard. With Chaman Beerbaum won over 1.8 million euros.

He retired Chaman back in 2017 when he was 18 years old.
