Edward Levy by far the best in French Championship

Typical of the beginning of the outdoor season are the national championships. For France it was held this week in Fontainebleau. In the Elite it was Edward Levy who crowned himself the unapproachable winner, leaving many favorites behind.

Friday's championship kicked off with a 1.50m course. With just under a second lead, it was Juliette Faligot who put her on one with Arqana de Riverland (by Cornet Obolensky). Only the top three were able to finish without penalties. Levy did not let himself stand out hard on this first day. Broadway de Mormoulin (by Kannan) let a rail fall down, which left them in tenth position for now. Levy has only had the 12-year-old stallion under the saddle since the beginning of the year.

Levy unbeatable in final

Two days later the French riders competed again in two rounds with obstacles at 1.55m. In this final, Levy was the only one who managed to finish without any penalties, making him the incorrigible winner with Broadway de Mormoulin. Charlotte Spaas Levallois finished with only one time fault for Dream de Beaufour (by Diamant de Semilly) in second place. This was followed by all combinations with four penalties in a shared third place. There we saw top riders like Megane Moissonnier, Kevin Staut, Julien Epaillard, among others. Juliette Faligot also shared bronze place.

Edward Levy wins French championship

With only 1.68 penalty points carried from the first round, Edward Levy won the championship. Leader of day one, Juliette Faligot, was good for silver after she was charged with a jumping fault in the final round to finish on a total of 4 penalty points. Maelle Martin finished third with a totaled score of 4.46.
