Swedish party with Nations Cup victory in Hickstead

In Hickstead the Nations Cup competition proved to be challenging. In the two rounds many mistakes were made by riders from all teams. It was however the Swedish team that took the victory after two stunning clear rounds from both Peder Fredricson and Zacramanto (Cardento) and Angelie von Essen aboard Luikan Q (Luidam). Fredrik Johnsson and Cold Play (Contendro I) jumped down one rail and Rolf-Gorang Bengtsson decided not to compete in the second round. With four penalties in total they took the victory.

2. Ierland - 8 strafpunten
3. Italië - 10 strafpunten

In second place came the Irish team with two clear rounds from both Paul O'Shea with Imerald van 't Voorhof and Anthony Condon and his SfS Aristio.Both Capt Brian Cournana and Armik as Michael Duffy and Mullaghdrin Touch the Stars finished with 4 penalties. Their team total was 8 penalties. 

With ten penalties it was then the Italian team that took the third place. . De Italianen eindigden met 10 strafpunten wat goed was voor de derde plaats.

Press statement Hickstead:

British team rider Amanda Derbyshire was involved in a riding fall in today’s Longines FEI Jumping Nations Cup™ of Great Britain. Riding Roulette BH, the pair fell at the water jump.

Amanda received an injury to her face, caused by the peak of her riding hat. She was taken to the nearby Royal Sussex County Hospital in Brighton to be checked over.

Roulette BH got straight up from his fall and walked onto the horse ambulance. He is being assessed on site by Sussex Equine Hospital Vets.
