No Olympics for Pénélope Leprévost... "With horses your life is full of surprises.!"

France's Pénélope Leprévost has revealed to Ouest-France, she won't be able to compete at the next Olympic Games, organized in her home country, France. The reason? Her top horse,  Bingo del Tondou got injured and did undergo surgery. For Leprévost Paris 2024 should have been her fourth Olympic Games. "Bingo got suddenly injured. His health is my priority!"

"Unfortunately, a horse can't tell us what it feels. Perhaps the discomfort had been going on for several weeks. We decided two weeks ago to proceed with Bingo's surgery. This once again shows that with horses, you can always be faced with surprises," the equestrian says.

"In our life, it's not enough that the rider is in good condition, but the horse must also be in good shape. We have to be in symbiosis. This is what makes this sport so extraordinary and so painful. The factor of the horses adds a bit more emotional impact. It's all the more touching and disappointing because it falls in the year of the Games. But horses teach us to put things into perspective. Bingo's wound is healing well, and now we are no longer in an emergency situation. We will continue at his pace so that he returns to the highest level under the best conditions."

Although Paris is no longer on the agenda, Leprévost still wants to participate in at least a fourth Olympics!
