Swiss jumpingsquad takes the GOLDEN medal at the Europeans

Today the best ten countries started their team finals at the European showjumping Championships. Switzerland kicked-off as favorite. The second round made sure there was a shift, but the Swiss didn't let go and claimed GOLD (LIVE ) .

First Swiss rider at the start was Elian Baumann aboard the 14-year-old gelding, Campari Z (Contact vd Heffinck). The pair finisht with three rails down. After Bryan Balsiger restored the hope for the Swiss. Together with AK's Courage (Chepetto C), Balsiger set a clear round.

When Reigning European Champion, Martin Fuchs, kept it clear with the 9-year-old KWPN-gelding, Leone Jei (Baltic VDL) the Swiss started to dream from the GOLD.

Second but last rider at the start was Germany's David Will with the 13-year-old C Vier. Together with the son of Cardento, Will jumped one rail down. Putting the pressure still on Steve Guerdat with Albfuehren's Maddox (Cohiba). Guerdat had one task, a maximum of one jumping fault. The pair succeeded, securing the GOLD for Switzerland.

SILVER for Germany

BRONZE for Belgium. After their Bronze medal in Tokyo, the Belgium jumping squad remains on medal course.

Martin Fuchs in the lead to prolong his European title!

With a clear round for Martin Fuchs, he is still in the lead for the individual medal race. Andre Thieme follows in second with DSP Chakaria . The third place is currently for Pieter Devos and Jade vd Bisschop.
