Sweden takes the lead at European Championships Riesenbeck

Today the first round was set at the European Championships in Riesenbeck. In Ludger Beerbaum's backyard the 1.50m Table C counted for the individual and team ranking. Sweden takes a strong lead.

Second but last rider, Germany's David Will (Photo) set the fastest track with his 13-year-old  C Vier (Cardento). The pair is taking the lead in the individual ranking and are followed by Sweden's Peder Fredricson aboard Catch Me Not S (Cardento). Together with the 15-year-old gelding the Sweden showjumping rider was over one second faster as compatriot Douglas Lindelöw with his 11-year-old son of Chacco-Blue, Casquo Blue.

France's Olivier Robert follows in a fourth place with his SF-gelding, Vivaldi Des Meneaux. Reigning European Champion, Martin Fuchs follows in a fifth place with Leone Jei.

Zweden on top

The Swedish showjumping team is in the lead for the gold medal. Germany and Switzerland follow in a second and third place.

Tomorrow at 1.00pm the first part of the Nations Cup competition is planned, followed by the second part on Friday. Sunday the individual finals take place.
