Equestrian world bids farewell to Hans-Werner Paul, a man passionate about his Trakehners

The equestrian world mourns the passing of Hans-Werner Paul, who died on January 25 at the age of 85. Paul took early responsibility for the farm in Schleswig-Holstein and successfully dedicated himself to his passion: breeding Trakehner horses.

Trakehners were close to Paul's heart, not just his own. He engaged in various ways. In 1976, he became deputy chairman of the breeding district Schleswig-Holstein/Hamburg, and from 1979 he was its chairman. Additionally, he became 1st Deputy Chairman of the overall association and was a member of the Trakehner Stallion Licensing Commission from 1980 to 2001.

The Trakehner Association has listed them: Paul was the recipient of the Freiherr-von-Schrötter Medal, the Dietrich-von-Lenski Memorial Prize, the Gold Honor Needle of the Trakehner Association, the Federal Cross of Merit, also for local political efforts, and the Golden Needle with Diamond. Since 2017, Hans-Werner Paul was an honorary member of the Trakehner Association.

Now, on January 25, 2024, Hans-Werner Paul has passed away at the age of 85. Our condolences to everyone affected by his passing.
