Vincent Lambrecht, who collaborates with rider Xingjia Zhang who represented him at the Olympic Games, approached the Dekens family, who were eager to welcome back their former pupil. For Frederik Dekens, this horse holds special significance. With For Passion d'Ive, he took his first steps in the sport and progressed to higher levels. They competed in significant events together, including the finals of the 7-year-olds in Lummen.

Dekens first competed internationally with him in September 2012, when he was still a five-year-old stallion, in Lanaken. A year later, Jody Bosteels took the reins for a while, and also Peter Postelmans, Stefan Corten, Inge Pieck, Karel Cox, and Thibaut Huyvaert had the opportunity to ride him. After briefly competing with Vincent Lambrecht, he handed over the reins to Xingjia Zhang, who rode him from 2017 until the end of last year, with occasional interventions from Lambrecht and his wife Kelly Vandousselaere.

Despite being 17 years old, the stallion is still in his prime and has already passed on his genes to his offspring, despite their limited number.
