Gregory Wathelet and Flagship de Hus part ways

Recently, Flagship de Hus, an eight-year-old mare by Cornet Obolensky, won the Youngster Tour on the legendary arena of Aachen. She achieved this victory under the saddle of Gregory Wathelet, who announced the mare's departure on his social media.

The gray mare has been under Wathelet's training since she was four years old, with a brief period when Manuel Thiry took over the reins. In total, Flagship de Hus has reached the podium eleven times, seven of which were on the highest step. Among her numerous successes is also her ninth-place finish at the World Championships for young horses she achieved last year as a seven-year-old under Wathelet. Since then, the interest from potential buyers has grown significantly, but the right match seems to have been found just recently. The mare is moving to Mexico, but the exact rider who will take over the reins is not yet known.

Although the mare is leaving the stables of her Belgian rider, her bloodline remains secured with two offspring from her under Wathelet. He strongly believes in this bloodline, partly because he previously had the grandmother, Banda de Hus, under his saddle.
