Khaled Almobty impresses Riyadh with win in 5* 1.40m class

The 5*-W competition in Riyadh just kicked off with a handsome 1.40m class, where the home crowd definitely got something to cheer for as both Khaled Almobty and Abdullah Alsharbatly jumped to the top of the standings.

Only six competitors managed to stay clear over both phases, with Khaled Almobty setting by far the fastest time with a chrono of 25.31 seconds. Almobty thus took the gold in the saddle of the 12-year-old Oldenburg chestnut mare Limonca (Limoncello II), outclassing his compatriot Abdullah Alsharbatly and the Belgian-bred gelding Kanabis van de Bucxtale (Contact van de Heffinck). For Jordan, Ibrahim Hani Basharat jumped aboard the 10-year-old Dutch Warmblood Henriette (Diamant de Semilly) to the third time and closed off the podium.

Omer Kareavli placed fourth with the Hanoverian stallion Policeman 2 (Perigueux), just ahead of H.r.h. Prince Mansour Alsaud of Saudi Arabia and the KWPN gelding Eamelusina R57 (Calvado F.C.).
