Earlier today we received the news that the Mexican showjumper Jaime Guerra Piedra passed away. The in Belgium living rider passed in his sleep. The 54-year old rider was still very active in the sport. He participated twice in the Olympic games, in Barcelona (1992) and Atlanta (1996), entered three World Equestrian Games in The Hague (1994), Rome (1998) and Lexington (2010). Additionaly he rode in the Pan-Am Games in Indianapolis in 1987. In April he succesfully participated in the MET-tour in Oliva, he took home the silver medal in the CSI1* Grand Prix and took the third rank in the CSI2* GP. We wish his family and friends all the best and are sorry for their loss.
