The Derby of La Baule once again claimed a lot of victims. Only two combinations were able to reach the finish line of this CSIO5* 1.50m class without getting caught by the difficulty of the course.
Jérôme Guery (BEL), in the saddle of Jyrado vh Bovenhoekshof, was the first to finish the entire course with only four penalties. With the sBs stallion by By Ceira d'Ick, Guery eventually concluded in sixth place.
French rider Megane Moissonnier also had a fault with Leeuwin van de Moerhoeve (Diamant de Semilly) but a faster time than our compatriot allowed her to finish in fifth place. The Clarimo son Cadans van de Ijzervallei (breeder: Titus Vereecke), now starting under the name Iron Maiden, decided on four under Roberto Teran Tafur.
Irandole du Flot, the breeding product of Pierre and Pascale Vanderschelden - Van Averlaet accurately worked the course with Shane Sweetnam (IRL). Steve Guerdat (SUI) and Easy Star de Talma (Quick Star) were the other agile team that finished clear and placed second. Third place went to Lily Attwood and Johnnie Walker (Harley VDL).
