Steve Guerdat and Venard de Cerisy top Coupe de Genève

Steve Guerdat and Venard de Cerisy top Coupe de Genève

The highest class of the day in Geneva, Switzerland, tested the riders over six obstacles and as many as 13 obstacles. Less than one third managed to get into the jump-off. With twelve riders battling for victory it was Steve Guerdat who left all the competition behind on Venard de Cerisy (v. Open Up Semilly).

The riders and their horses were put to the test in a challenging course over 1.60m high jumps and obstacles. Getting through the course without faults proved no easy task. But Steve Guerdat did not give in to the pressure and secured a starting place for the shortened course.

The entire top three was filled with Swiss combinations. Niklaus Schurtenberger competed on C-Steffra (by Clarimo) and had a clear jump-off in 34.66, which proved good for third place. Just slightly faster, in 32.93 Edouard Schmitz crossed the finish line on Gamin van 't Naastveldhof (by Chacco Chacco). But again, someone could do better. With 32.16 on the chrono, Steve Guerdat was the unapproachable winner. With Venard de Cerisy he kept all competition behind and cried victory.
