Team Harmony announces Ornellaia's retirement from the sport

Ornellaia (For Pleasure x Calato) was bred by Harm Thormaehlen and will now enjoy her retirement at the age of 17, after a long and successful career.

The mare owned by Team Harmony, has been successful on the highest level of the sport with multiple riders in her saddle such as Francois Mathy Jr (BEL), John Whitaker (GBR), Peter Moloney (IRL), Anna-Julia Kontio (FIN) and now ending with Sienna Charles (GBR). Ornellaia recorded many top results in her rather long career taking the win at shows as Hagen, Monte Carlo, Lexington, London, Paris, Rouen, Toronto and Vejer de la Frontera. John Whitaker was steering the reins in 2016 at the Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro and even won the CSIO5* Nations Cup in Rome with the British team. One of her last shows was with Sienna Charles, jumping clear in the CSIO3* Nations Cup in Madrid.

"Happy retirement Ornellaia! So grateful for the opportunity to have had you as my partner over the last 3 years, one of a kind.", says Charles on her Instagram page.

We wish Ornellaia a well deserved, happy retirement!
