FEI agrees to pause monthly Tack App updates until the conclusion of the Olympic en Paralympic Games

The Fédération Equestre Internationale (FEI) has announced a temporary pause in updates regarding the FEI Tack, Equipment & Dress Database (FEI Tack App) before the Olympic & Paralympic Games in Paris 2024. This announcement follows a period of discussion and feedback from athletes and officials seeking more clarity on the use of equipment during these prestigious events.

The FEI launched the Tack App in May 2023 with the aim of assisting riders, grooms, officials, and other stakeholders in better understanding the complex rules and regulations regarding equipment at FEI competitions. However, the frequent updates made it difficult to keep up and even led to a heated debate during last year's general assembly of the IJRC.

After careful consideration, the FEI has decided to temporarily halt updates to the FEI Tack App after April 8, 2024. This decision stems from the desire to provide clarity and ensure consistent application of the rules during these significant sporting events.

"Further to feedback received from numerous Athletes and Officials, who are seeking clarity regarding the use of tack and equipment during the Olympic & Paralympic Games in Paris 2024, the FEI agreed that this would be the last update of the FEI Tack App prior to the Games. The temporary pause of updates to the FEI Tack App will be applied to all FEI Disciplines, including non-Olympic Disciplines."

"Following the conclusion of the Olympic & Paralympic Games in Paris 2024, the updates shall resume on every first Monday of the month, as per the usual process." stated an official communication from the FEI.
