The CSI5*W 1.50m competition win stayed on home soil as Hans-Dieter Dreher and Vestmalle des Cotis sped to victory. The Speed Class in Stuttgart counted for the Longines Ranking.
The victory was claimed by home-rider Hans-Dieter Dreher (GER) riding Vestmalle des Cotis (Baloubet du Rouet, breeder: Mr. Rudy Cock, Mrs. Christine Cock-Leva). Harry Charles (GBR) followed closely, about 20 hundredths behind, in second place with Billabong du Roumois (Mylord Carthago, breeder: Philippe Bertho). The top three was rounded out by another local rider, Philipp Schulze Topphoff (GER) and Carla Nrw (Comme il Faut, breeder: Schulze Isfort, Karl Heinz).
In fourth place, under the guidance of Steve Guerdat (SUI), was the sBs gelding Albfuehren's Iashin Sitte (Bamako de Muze), bred by Daniel Boudrenghien. The fifth position went to Scott Brash (GBR) and Hello Mr President (Comme d'Api).
