The Dutch riders claimed the two top classes of Jumping Indoor Maastricht today. Harrie Smolders won the CSI4* 1,45m, Henk van de Pol won the following CSI4* 1,50m.
Henk van de Pol won this top class aboard Zangersheide gelding Looyman Z (Numero Uno) in 29,39 seconds. He beat the previously leading time of 29,92 seconds of French rider Edward Levy with Uno de Cerisy (Open Up Semilly). They ended up in second position.
In third place, we say a unique phenomenon; Father and son Eric and Maikel van der Vleuten shared this classification. Maikel and KWPN-stallion Verdi TN (Quidam de Revel) jumped to a clear 29,93 seconds, last-to-go Eric and Djoost Again (Cantos) set the exact same time. The fifth position went to Belgian rider Jérôme Guery with Eras Ste Hermelle.
Harrie Smolders and Une de l'Othain (Conterno Grande) were the winning pair in this accumulator test. They finished in 38,38 seconds, one and a half-second faster than compatriot Jens van Grunsven with Doma Sue (Dollar du Murier). Annelies Vorsselmans, defending Belgium, finished third with Madison (Indoctro). Michel Hendrix and Petronella Andersson completed the top five.
