On Saturday evening, the Dutch Masters at the Brabanthallen concluded with the CSI5* 1.55m Audi Prize. The competition clearly separated the wheat from the chaff as only three riders remained standing in the challenging course.
At first, it seemed like it would be a Brazilian showdown between Marlon Modolo Zanotelli (BRA) and Yuri Mansur (BRA) until Scott Brash (GBR), second to last to start, joined them in a three-way jump-off. Mounted on Hello Valentino, he was the first to tackle the shortened course. Taking a bit too much risk towards the Rolex-style fence led to his horse coming to a halt. Zanotelli was next in line with Cornest. The duo delivered a flawless ride in 38.73 seconds. Lastly, Mansur had the chance to snatch the victory, but he also faulted on Catch Me Marathon, settling for second place.
Kevin Staut (FRA) steered Cloe GP Z (Corrdino) to fourth place followed by Denis Lynch (IRL) and the 15-years-old Brooklyn Heights (Nabab de Reve).
5* comeback for Jade vd Bisschop under Pieter Devos
Earlier this year, Pieter Devos and Jade vd Bisschop cautiously made their comeback in the show jumping arena. The daughter of Ogano Sitte seems to be fully back on track. Devos rode a promising round with the 15-year-old mare, whom he had to sideline at the end of 2021 due to an injury. In their first CSI5* together again, the duo only knocked down one rail but otherwise delivered an excellent performance, earning them the sixth place.
