TeamNL leaves hosting Germany behind in Longines EEF Nations Cup

In Mannheim, the first leg for TeamNL in the Longines EEF Nations Cup was scheduled! The team of Willem Greve, Kevin Jochems, Loewie Joppen and Frank Schuttert were unbeatable on German soil and won with zero penalties!

In this Longines EEF Nations Cup, no jump-off was needed to know that the Netherlands was the best team. Three of the four riders provided a clear round, Frank Schuttert did not compete in the first round. For Greve, Highway M TN (by Eldorado van de Zeshoek put his best foot forward. Kevin Jochems had Flying Jackie (by Nabab de Reve) under the saddle and Loewie Joppen started with Havel van de Wolfsakker Z (by Hos d'O). In the second round these three riders kept it again clear, Schuttert finished with six penalties for Hawaii-S (by Inshallah de Muze), the penalty result was applied to them allowing TeamNL to finish without penalties!

Following on silver was Germany with Patrick Stühlmeyer, Stefan Engbers, Mario Stevens and Philipp Schulze Topphoff. The German team had two clear rounds in the first round thanks to Stevens and Topphoff, the latter remaining clear over the entire line. In the second round, Stühlmeyer and Engbers also each provided a clear result, which ultimately left the German team in second place with two penalties, ridden by Engbers in the first round. 

Spain took home the bronze. Alberto Marquez Galobardes, Teresa Blazquez-Abascal, Eduardo Alvarez Aznar and Sergio Alvarez Moya received the bronze, with a point total of eight penalty points.
